X-Rite eXact 2
Xrite eXact 2 can be connected using a USB cable or wirelessly using WiFi.
WiFi connection requires some prerequisites but is very practical, especially when frequent measurements are performed.
Windows users
If you are using Windows, you need to install a USB driver in advance. If not installed, please add the newest one manually.
USB cable connection
Before you start the application, connect the instrument to your computer using a USB cable. Be sure that your instrument is placed on calibration. The connection procedure contains a calibration step. The procedure can't be completed automatically when the instrument cannot read the calibration tile QR code.
WiFi Connection
- The computer and eXact 2 have to be on the same wi-fi network.
- Setup Wi-Fi SSID in Device Settings/Wi-Fi. Select Network , enter password and make sure that connection is enabled.
Write down the IP address assigned to the instrument by the DHCP server. It is displayed in the Wi-Fi Opitiom window. - For the first time, connect eXact with a USB cable and save the configuration.
- Once the configuration is stored in your Capture, it should be listed as an alternative connection method.
DHCP Server settings
We recommend reserving an IP address for your X-Ritre eXact 2 on your router. This will prevent the previous configuration from becoming outdated due to the IP change.
Power settings
- On the instrument enter menu, go to Instrument Setting/ Power Settings and set Time to idle according to your needs.
- When working using Wi-Fi, it is highly recommended that the instrument on the calibration base be connected to the power supply.
