Source of the Reference: L*a*b*
Use this tool if you have Lab color coordinates as Aims.
This is a very simple tool but take into account that L*a*b* coordinates require proper Color Specification.
The most important Color Specifications are:
- Illuminant - which in Print Industry is typically D50 in Color Manufacturing ( plastics, paints, textile) D65 but might be different including custom.
- Observer - 2° (print) or 10° (paints, automotive, ...)
- Measurement Condition (that typically specifies the amount of UV component ( M0, M1, M2, ...)
- and Geometry setting (angles, aperture, SPIN/SPEX...)
Be sure that Instrument Color Specification match L*a*b* coordinates specification. The potential error might be huge.
Lab coordinates used by Chromachecker are CIELab, not a Hunter Lab.
